A St. Moritz con Montblanc
A febbraio sono stato invitato a St- Moritz alla scoperta della nuova collezione di segnatempo Montblanc 1858. Qui ho trascorso tre giorni completamente immerso nella natura, percorrendo per la prima volta una tratta in treno che era tanto tempo che volevo percorrere. Si tratta del Glacier Express, il treno che transita con carrozze panoramiche attraverso le Alpi svizzere da St. Moritz a Zermatt.
Last February I was invited to St-Moritz to discover the new Montblanc 1858 timepieces collection. Here I spent three days completely immersed in nature, traveling for the first time on a train route that I’ve been wanting to see to for a long time. It was the Glacier Express, the famous scenic train across the Swiss Alps.
Lungo il percorso ci siamo fermati a Morteratsch, a quota 1890 metri sul livello del mare, per iniziare il percorso di trekking di risalita verso il ghiacciaio (appena 35 minuti, accompagnati da una guida alpina). Lassù ho scoperto un panorama di assoluta bellezza, circondato solo dalle cime del Piz Palü e del Piz Bernina.
Along the way we stopped in Morteratsch, at an altitude of 1890 meters above sea level, to begin the trekking path to go up towards the glacier (it took 35 minutes, accompanied by a mountain guide). Up there I discovered a panorama of absolute beauty, surrounded by the peaks of Piz Palü and Piz Bernina.

Abbiamo poi proseguito verso Pontresina per visitare le famose e maestose cascate di ghiaccio e infine abbiamo concluso a Muottas-Murag, prendendo la storica funicolare che sale sulla cima dell’omonimo monte. È la più antica funicolare turistica della zona, data 1907, percorre un tracciato di 2201 metri e supera una pendenza del 56% prima di giungere la destinazione a 2456 metri sul livello del mare.
We then continued to Pontresina to visit the famous and majestic ice waterfalls and finally we ended in Muottas-Murag, taking the historic funicular that climbs to the top of the homonymous mountain. It is the oldest tourist funicular in the area, dated 1907, it covers a path of 2201 meters and overcomes a 56% gradient before reaching the destination at 2456 meters above sea level.
Nelle foto mi vedete indossare i nuovi Montblanc 1858 Geosphere Blu, caratterizzati dall’iconico ed elegante quadrante Geosphere che ritrae le sette vette più alte del mondo ed il Monte Bianco, indicate sui due emisferi terrestri Nord e Sud con altrettanti puntini blu. La cassa è realizzata in titanio grado 5, con una caratteristica colorazione fredda che si sposa molto bene con le tonalità blu del quadrante, e presenta elementi elementi color ghiaccio a contrasto. Questo duo di colori trae ispirazione proprio dal colore dei ghiacciai e dei paesaggi alpini innevati ed è un omaggio agli orologi professionali della Manifattura Minerva degli anni Venti e Trenta realizzati per uso militare e per le esplorazioni in montagna.
Precisi, leggibili ed in grado di resistere alle più estreme condizioni climatiche, i due modelli che compongono la nuova capsule collection Montblanc 1858 sono capolavori di alta orologeria disponibili nella versione con cinturino in pelle blu Sfumato realizzato dalla Pelletteria di Firenze oppure con bracciale bimetallico vintage in titanio satinato opaco e acciaio lucido.
In the photos you see me wearing the new Montblanc 1858 Geosphere Blu timepieces, characterized by the iconic and elegant Geosphere dial that portrays the seven highest peaks in the world and the Mont Blanc, indicated on the two hemispheres, North and South, with as many blue dots. The case is made of grade 5 titanium, with a characteristic cold color that goes very well with the blue shades of the dial, and features contrasting ice-colored elements. This duo of colors is inspired by the color of glaciers and snowy alpine landscapes and is a tribute to the professional watches of the Minerva Manufacture of the 1920s and 1930s made for military use and for mountain exploration.

Se anche voi, come me, siete amante dei viaggi amerete di questo orologio la sua funzione di ora universale, ottenuta attraverso gli emisferi posti a ore 12 e a ore 6. Entrambi sono circondati da una scala fissa con i 24 fusi orari, ciascuno con indicatore giorno/notte blu finitura rodio e meridiano di riferimento della longitudine evidenziato da una linea blu rivestita di SuperLumiNova di colore bianco, e si muovono consentendo l’indicazione costante dei diversi fusi orari. A ore 9 si trova un secondo fuso, mentre a ore 3 è collocata la finestra della data, legata all’ora locale.
Perfetto per viaggiare, Montblanc 1858 Geosphere Blu è ideale sia per il tempo libero che per le ore lavorative, se accostato ad un abbigliamento più formale.
If you, like me, are travel lovers, you will be enchanted by the universal time function, obtained through the hemispheres at 12 and 6 o’clock. Both are surrounded by a fixed scale with 24 time zones, each with indicator day/night blue rhodium finish and reference meridian of longitude highlighted by a blue line coated with white SuperLumiNova: they move allowing the constant indication of the different time zones. At 9 o’clock there is a second time zone, while at 3 o’clock there is the date window, linked to the local time.
Perfect for traveling, Montblanc 1858 Geosphere Blu is ideal for both leisure and working hours, when paired with more formal attire.
